    Hey guys,

I recently made a video on my Bartlett Upside-down pipe.

Do any of your guys have one, or have smoked on before? Let me know.

Here is the link to the video:

    Thanks,

    ~ Silver Shadow

I've never seen that pipe before. Thanks for doing the video and posting it. I just wear the same broad brimmed hat I always wear and it keeps the rain out of my pipes.

Interesting pipe. It seems like it would be difficult to not scorch the bowl when lighting.

I have a mystery estate pipe that I thought was a Grabow but after watching this video I am certain it is a Bartlett. It does not have the manufacturers name on it but it does say imported Briar and looks very similar to the pipe in the video.

Thanks for all the positive comments. I saw a Bartlett on eBay recently, but it doesn't have the top cap... so it is pretty much useless =(

How does the taste profile differ from that of a normal pipe? As you say in the video, the tobacco would be quite dried out as the smoke progresses - the opposite of what happens with a typical pipe. Do you find that this improves the flavor?

Steve, that's Bartlett as in Bartlett, New Hampshire. http://www.mountwashington.com/pipe/ used to be the website, but it appears to be gone.

I haven't really noticed a drastic change. I've never experienced tongue bite with it. The smoke is a little warm, but it is dry.

Nice vid, SS. I suppose my wind-capped
Falcon would suffice as a 'rainy day pipe'.
