I'm thinking of adding a Meerschaum to my stable; what are the best quality Meer's out there?

Not anything elaborate, just a nice quality smoker.

    Thanks in advance.

The 3 IMPs have been good for me. The Peterson Sherlock Holes meerschaums are my favourite but have become hard to find and over the top for pricing recently.
I'm leaning towards Altinok for my next meerschaum. They are reasonably priced and the reputation is top notch from what I can determine.

Baki, Altinok, IMP - can't go wrong with any of 'em.

No experience with the first, but can echo Altinok and IMP at least.

Fikri Baki holds the most spots in my collection by far, followed by IMP, then Altinok and Yanik in a 3rd place tie.

Some of the best quality meerschaum pipes are old Barling, Peterson, Manx pipes (made from African meerschaum (made more durable with a calcination process) in the now closed down The Pipe Factory, Old Laxey, Isle of Man) The Barling meers with more comfortable, better made stems are probably the best meerschaum pipes ever made for their smoking properties

Until the they introduced the briar style tenon the African meers were better engineered of the two but these days the Turkish ones are just as good.

I just got an apple meer from Sinan Altinok. I ordered it April 14th and it just came last week. WOW! What a work of art! It is absolutely gorgeous! What workmanship! I cannot wait to begin to break it in. It's almost too beautiful to use!
THe wait for one is a bit long, but from what I see, I will be ordering more in the future.
