Ooh, Samarra! I haven't had that in a good many years. I do remember it being quite to my taste, though, a nice rich and full Oriental mixture. I really should get some more. Anyway, good start, Ming. I'm looking forward to your YouTube reviews too! That's a gorgeous pipe, by the way!

Holy crap Gary, I was right on the tobaccos per TR. I didn't mention Virginia, but that is\was obvious. Sorry.

I loved this one and will definitly buy some as it goes straight to the top of the TAD list!
    Thanks again.

Not sure I will get to review #2 tonight. A few things came up at the Mington household and I got delayed. I will for sure to be able to knock out a few tomorrow.

Any idea what the difference is between Samarra and Blackpoint? I had Blackpoint once and gave it a 2. Maybe it was the pipe or my taste buds were off that night. I think I have some more Blackpoint so maybe I will have to do a side by side of these two.
I can't believe I nailed it. I surprised myself. lol

*Thanks Herb. It's a wonderful smoker!

I did have time to sneak in a small bowl of GL Pease Blackpoint in the same pipe to compare it to the Samarra. Blackpoint is good, similar, but milder. Maybe that's why I didn't like it as much as I "prefer" stronger tobacco. Not always, but more often than not. Blackpoint is like the little brother. (Still 2 to 2.5 stars for me)

These types of comparisons between tobacco add huge value to these reviews. Tons of fun doing these, eh?

OK..the video is done. Total dorky-ness. (Is that a word?) lol
It's uploading to Youtube now and should be done and ready for prime time shortly.
This is going to be a hoot.

    *Spoiler alert:
I am stumped on this one ladies and gentlemen.

Here ya go. Blind Tobacco Review #2.
I highly recommend to watch this after a few "pops" heh
The audio is a little noisy, the camera placement could be better, etc.
I haven't done this in like 10 months, so I am sure "if" I do anymore videos, I will fix the quality.
8 minutes of pure insanity and dorkiness. lol
I am not sure what this one is. Something a little different than I am used to.
I didn't mention in the video, but in afterthought, there might be perique in there. It was a little spicy or peppery.
You got me on this one.
    What is it Gary?
Happy New Years all and let me know if I should dare do anymore on video. I will change it up for sure!
    And now..........

Great vid, Ming! No worries, you're not dorky at all. Looking forward to seeing what this is, too.

So what basses do you have? I'm sure I spied a Fender in there...

    Herb,
    The 3 basses are:
    1) The white one with black trim (now yellowing) is my very 1st bass. A 1977 Rickenbacker 4001S. Bought brand new in '77.
    2) The one that is kinda facing the camera is a black Hofner Beatle Icon bass. It's a real Hofner, but I think Chinese and defintely cheaper that a German one. heh
    3) The 3rd one is a custom built fretless (yes..with a Fender neck). A few years ago, I picked out and bought every single part for it, down to the knobs, jacks, etc. Some from Ebay, some from online stores, etc. A friend of mine who builds basses put it all together for me. It really is an awesome instrument! Sounds great, looks great.
I have some pics (Photobucket?) somewhere around and can post them tomorrow or soon.

Thanks all for the kind words. Was it less boring and stupid than some of the other Youtube reviewers out there? lol
Happy and safe New Years to all.
    Don

Where the heck is Gary? I want my answer this year!:old:
    lol
    Tap...tap...tap.....
