So this weekend, my neighbor brought me a pipe that used to belong to his grandfather. It was in a case that used to hold 2 pipes, a matching pair. One was a bulldog (missing...) and the other is a straight Dublin. It is an Ehrlich pipe, and there is no marking on the stem. Best I can tell, it's from the mid 60's... There's an old add that shows the set here: http://pipepages.com/dpe16

This pipe is BRAND NEW, and has never been smoked! It is a beautiful natural briar color, and when I pull air through the stem, there is almost no resistance. I gave it a whirl, and it is a GREAT smoking pipe!

    Here's the pron:

What's the point of the pointy? Other than self defense I mean.

Similar to the Dunhill "inner-tube". Supposed to prevent condensation and make cleaning easier.

Nice pipe! Your neighbor is a good friend, and his grandfather was a man of considerable good taste.

Nice :) Looks like it came with a free knitting needle.

This pipe smokes fantastic! I broke it in with a little Proper English...

I couldn't believe it when my neighbor brought it over... Like new, in the case, never been smoked.

It's like through all these years, it was finding it's way to me so that I could enjoy it, and it could be part of my stable. =)

It's beautiful. I would consider the shape to be more of a billiard than a dublin.
