Has anyone tried Leavitt & Peirce's Cakebox tobacco? If so, what's it like? Is it still available? Looks like it may be according to their website. I've read a little about it but am interested in opinions of those who have tried it. Thanks in advance.

Why is it that when I think of Cakebox I think of a square Tupperware container? Certainly doesn't sound like a smoke I would want to try. Maybe it's just my medication needs to be adjusted.

Apparently the tobacco was originally blended in a cakebox that belonged to one of the proprietor's wife. From what I've read, the name has nothing to do with the taste, smell, etc. of the tobacco.

In the mid-60's to early 70's I smoked quite a bit of Cake Box. I got it from David P. Ehrlich Tobacconist in Boston. As I remember it was a light to medium English with a touch of cigar leaf. When I found more robust English blends I moved on.
