I'm looking at a pipe, bent free hand I believe. I was curious about the markings on it and if it's something worth buying. Stamped on the side of the shank is " Ascorti Radice Cucciago Cantu-Italy" on the bottom it is stamped "AR" I have herd of Ascorti, Radice, and Camineto but never seen them together on a pipe? I really like the pipe but didn't know much about it. It also has a marking on the stem. Any info would be a big help! Thanks

I may well be wrong but I believe that Radice in Italian means briar (actual translation is root), so it probably has nothing to do with the brand Radice. That narrow it down a bit. Have you trawled Pipedia yet?

It's a 70's Caminetto. I've had a few and generally thought well of them.

Thank you, that's the conclusion I came to after a little more research. Worth any less than $40? It's in very good condition, just minor rim darkening.
