I have a small CAO meer that I bought about 8 or 10 years ago. It has been smoked, but has not really colored much if at all. actual talons on it might be slightly off white. I think maybe its 4 inches long or so? Comes in a case.

Its a claw with a bowl. reddish translucent stem that a pipe cleaner will pass through.

I don't know if it is pressed or what.

Can anybody give me a ballpark range what this might be worth? I have been watching Ebay, and never see anything like it posted. no cracks or anything like that.

not looking for an actual appraisal or anything, just a ballpark of what you have seen these smaller CAO claw meers go for.

I wouldn't get rid of that pipe. There's a new one (CAO/Bekler) on Ebay going for $150.00 and a used one in less the shape yours is going for $50.00.

I'd keep the pipe. $50 or $60 goes nowhere these days. The pipe will last as long as you keep & maintain it. Hope you fare well either way.

I look at Meerschaums on a regular basis; the two I was referring to are no longer listed. This was just a couple of days ago. The new one as I said was $150 the used one $50. There is one similar to yours with bidding going at $31. Just clink on the link Brad provided. As for the two I seen, give it a day or so to be relisted, if they haven't sold.

In all honesty, from buying estate pipes over the years, I'd say your pipe is typical of those ranging from 30-50 dollars.
