I have a tin of Frog Morton Cellar on the way and I was considering cellaring/aging it.
Do you think that little piece of wood in there will be problematic (rotting, etc.)?

I kept the cubes in mine, think about it, what if you never opened the tin and just kept the tin stored for cellaring. The cubes would be in there.

Good question. I'm interested in hearing some thoughts on this as well. I got a tin just yesterday of FMC and it's in a Mason jar right now. I threw in the wood block too. I don't plan to age mine but I wanted to maintain the whiskey flavor as much as possible so I put it in a jar after I opened the tin. I will most likely smoke this up in less than a month but I was wondering about the wood block too.

I'm planning on keeping mine in the tin.
Guessing there really isn't any other tobacco w/ wood in the container to compare it to?

I would assume it would be fine. What if some really small town B&M placed an order for 100 tins and only sold 15. I'm sure the ones left sitting on their shelves over the years would be completely fine.

If you find mold on your "wood" you should see a doctor.

There isn't enough medicine in the world to give me wood for four hours.
