Anybody else ever notice how cleverly named some blends are? Some are misleading, some describe the blend very well, and some are just cool.
Paladin = It made me instantly think of the old western TV show, but when I smoked it then I wished it was soon to be a fading memory just like the show.
Exhausted Rooster = Very cool and catchy name.
Three Blind Moose = My favorite name and one of my favorite blends.

    Anyone else?

I crack up when I see any of the frog morton's but they are apparently really good for the most part. Haunted House confuses me, does it taste like cob webs and ectoplasm?

Here's a story I've heard but I cannot vouch for its truth:
Dunhill Early Morning Pipe..... one of the most famous names / tobaccos in the smoker's world.
I reckon that most people associate the purpose of its name with a tobacco that's supposed to be smoked after getting up in the morning...
However: Legend has it that the blend, and its name, were intended to be smoked after a night out!
So: You come home in the morning, had lots to drink, your diary has a few telephone numbers from sexy girls you managed to chat up, you sit down, contemplating which one of the girls to phone first.... but before you do ANYTHING..... have a smoke of EMP!!!!!!!:)

    Flying Dutchman:

this blend spoke to me of mystery, ghost ships, the sea, sailors yarns; just too romantic not to try--this was 1967--it didn't hurt that this was just about all i could get my hands on in my location at that time--

no longer available in the USA, and i hear it is no longer the blend it was years ago--but for a young trooper, in a far away exotic oriental land, the name was too much to resist--

I don't mind having a few cute names out there, but I don't want pipe tobacco to end up like craft beers, where every new beer has to have a douchier name than the last. I like all kinds of beers, but I'm rather disinclined to try things like "Horse Piss Beer" (maybe it's tasty with Merde de Cheval, I don't know), or "Old Leghumper". It's all good fun at first, but at least as far as beers go, the joke is really worn out.

    Just my $.02.

Agree that cute and names can be overdone. Worst example I can think of: hot sauces.

LOL ... Sweet red and bright Virginias, fragrant orientals, a bit of rich Cyprus Latakia, and just a pinch of Perique. The leaf is blended in layers, briefly pressed, then sliced and tumbled into ribbons. Lively and engaging, with a subtle fruitiness, and an elegant, creamy texture, it's a great bowl to accompany the morning cup

It's lively and engaging ... and best yet .. tumbled

Sorry Rewster , ya know I love ya man ! Just cant help myself sometimes
