Great news! The Sutliff rep called me and said, due to the response about EGR from this thread and a couple of others I posted on other pipe sites, they are going to make a 1.5 oz. tin version of EGR! By seeing people's reactions here, I convinced them to do more with the blend. I'm very excited because this means people who want to try it can without making a decent financial risk. And increases the chances of the brand staying around so your truly will always have it to smoke! Isn't that an amazing turn of events?

Awesome!! Dropping almost $50 w/shipping was concerning. But I will definitely get a tin now!! Did he say when they would be available?
    Great work BTW jiminks!!! [IMG]

Thank you. I don't when it'll happen. They only made the decision this morning based on all the tubs sold this weekend, my threads, and the e-mail I sent to the rep informing him on the interest I generated this weekend about EGR.

JimInks, your descriptions got me quite interested in this tobacco, but like a few others, I held back because of the amount/cost of giving it a try. If a 1.5 oz tin came out, I'd definitely get one to see how this blend suits me.

E-mail the company and request it. The more people who do that, the quicker it will happen. Here's the info:
    http://www.sutliff-tobacco.com/
And use the Sutliff Contact Page to voice your opinion.

As of today, a retailer in Cal. order an entire case of EGR to sell. I was told that's never happened in all the years the sales rep has worked at Sutliff. And, btw, as of today, SmokingPipes, com is now carrying EGR and Heine's Blend. I also suggested they sell HB in the 1.5 oz. tins. Word is spreading, and you guys are helping to make it happen! :toast: :th1: It means we'll continue to have EGR to smoke!

I will most assuredly be buying a 1.5 oz. tin for sampling purposes. Thanks Jim.

Good job Jimlnks. It is great when you can get a company to make a change to their marketing. My hat is off to you. [IMG]

I too would try a 1.5 oz tin of this blend as per your recommendation.

I heard from a Sutliff rep that his e-mail box exploded because of all the requests for EGR in the smaller tins! This is consumer power at its finest! Keep it going! :th1: They are reading and paying attention to the e-mails and threads on this forum.

I've read in another forum that people who have asked the company for samples of EGR are getting them. And as of now, Sutliff is packaging a 1.5 tin version, though I don't know when it'll be commercially available. I have a feeling it'll be soon.

Thanks for the info Jiminks. I contacted Sutliff to see if they have any samples available. If not I will wait for the 1.5 oz tins to come out.

    Good job getting this moving

And if you get it, and you like it, keep buying it. A knowledgeable B&M guy recently told me that it doesn't take many customers at all to keep a blend in circulation. At the B&M level, if one customer regularly buys something, that's probably enough to keep it stocked at that location.

I had some EGR just a bit ago . I had dried it a touch and it was very very nice ! Better than the other bowls of it that I've had . What a cool topnote and it will make a damn nice summer time blend . I'm glad it's gonna be in a tin too
