Went across the road yesterday to mail a letter at the little postal store and saw that they had a few tins of pipe tobacco. The Erinmore Flake caught my eye and the VA #1, thinking of picking up a tin to take on the fishing trip this week. I would be interested on your take on the Erinmore, I so far have a limited experience with trying new blends.

I just noticed the review on it and read through the thread, headed over to buy a tin now.

Personally, I do not care for it, but some here do. You could fit in either category. Lol

I'll look forward to hearing your thoughts on this belnd. I've considered it myself in the past but never pulled the trigger. I gather it can Ghost so I'd reccomend trying it in a less precious pipe first of all :P

I've noticed the newer version doesn't ghost anywhere near as bad as the Murray's. The taste is pretty much the same, but the strength and ghosting are less in the newer stuff. Other than that I really can't taste a difference.

I have a few tins in my bar and enjoy it a bit. The Flake definitely has a better taste the other versions

So far I seem to like it nice early sweetness, burns long and cool, but seems to lack flavor mid-smoke.

Yeah I have noticed the taper off as well. But for the cost, its a pretty good day to day smoke or traveler for the office. Plus the tin looks cool

I quite like the flake. It is the one I learned to fold and stuff and prefer it smoked that way.

I love it! Like Macnutz, Erinmore is the first flake I ever met. I'm looking forward to trying it with some age on it. I've gt a bunch in my cellar.

I find it rather underwhelming myself, but I've had worse.

    I agree, Pineapple.

I have a 100g tin and got a few bowls through it and opted to put the lid on tight with seran(sp?) wrap under it and shelve it for a while. I liked it but after a while it was like I'd eaten a whole pineapple and while not nasty, it was too much for me. I got the same feeling after eating too many, as you called it.. Juicy Fruit candy.
