    Being a cheap Dutchman, I agree that estates are the best way to build up a good rotation. Nothing against all the quality artisans out there, just all are out of my reach $$$ wise. Retirement/fixed income sucks. All but one of my estates are great smokers and that one is a super cheap basket pipe that was passed on to me when I first started pipe smoking.

    Apart from one BST all my purchases in the last couple years are estates. I'm a little rough on my pipes so it's nice to have a couple dings already, heck a couple of my favorites have convenient teeth marks that make them easier to clench.
