So I have this quite nice meerschaum lattice that takes a 9 mm filter. It draws a bit stiffly with the filter in place, but way too open without it. Is there a product I can get to fill in place of the filter? Your thoughts on this problem would be appreciated!

Good find, Morse, I didn't know they made those.

That's a really nice meer, Dallas! Welcome to the forum!

Ah, great Morse -- thanks! I'll see if my B&M has some!

Thanks, Herb -- I've only had it a year but it's a nice one. Just doesn't seem to be a great draw unless I pack VERY loose, and I would prefer not to do that.

I'm guessing that if you get it to smoke more to your liking, it'll develop some beautiful color in a short time. I've seen some nicely colored latice meers like that, and I think they're some of the best lookers.

Turns out the local B&M is out of stock but will have some in a couple of weeks -- he's closed the 14th to the 22nd, but should have them shortly after he re-opens. I looked on the site you suggested, Morse, and they're cheap enough but it's $20 to ship to Canada so I think I'll wait and get them locally (apart from the issue of supporting our local retailers, which I think is important).

Absolutely - if you can get them locally that makes the most sense.
