This is a unique pipe, as it is smoked with the bowl upside down. The pipe is turned over and bowl rotated 1/4 turn for loading, and lighting. Once lit the bowl is rotated back into position, then turned upside down, taking the shape of a "Normal" pipe. The bottom of the pipe has holes to allow air to flow in and up to the bottom of the bowl. Essentially the stem is the pipes wind cap.

    Confused yet???

Interesting! I'd asked how it smokes but you'd probably reply "Upside-Down". :D

Been busy trying a bunch of bacci for my 31 flavors review, so I haven't yet smoked it.
My Meer and clays are getting a workout at the moment.

It's really unique, I love stuff like that, but it looks like some sort of turn-of the-century cobbler's tool.

Looks cool! But what is the point of the design? To let out less smoke, or to not be affected by the weather, or something else?

That is the most unique pipe I've ever seen. It also answers the age old question of whether you can smoke a pipe upside down. Apparently you can!
