Today I came across the first pipe tobacco blend that made me stop and scratch my head. I was sniffing through the house blend jars at my local B&M. I had ventured over to the aromatic side to maybe give something that caught my nose a try. One of the jars was labeled "Curiously Strong". I didn't put two and two together until I popped the lid off the jar. Shazaaam that's alot of peppermint. I didn't know that the store clerk was watching me until he chuckled at the face I made. Fellow pipers I can honestly say this is one blend I don't think I will ever try.

Sounds like an Altoids flavored toby.

Oh maybe it is Altoids I'm thinking of with that stupid slogan. Obviously didn't work if I can't even relate it to the right product. LOL

I have to say I'm really not counting on my pipe to freshen my breath.

I like aromatics, but this doesn't sound very appetizing to me.

Ask if there's any deer tongue in "curiously strong"... i was gifted a blend with deer tongue in it, and yes, it reminded me of altoids when I sniffed it!

There must have been a fair bit of deer tongue in that one, Dondi. I was recently passed some samples of a couple of Cornell & Diehl blends that include deer tongue (Crooner and Trinidad, specifically), and I could hardly detect it in the pouch or pipe. They are both very good, but only mildly minty.
