Today I stopped by my B&M to drop off a pipe to have a new stem made for it (couldn't stand the draw or the button). While waiting my turn, I perused the basket pipes and saw a square shanked billiard. Not a foursquare, just a billy with a square shank. I picked it up and examined it, but found the draft hole to be too high. As I'm putting it back, I see another and grab it. Draft hole is spot on.

So I thinks to myself, there's gotta be something wrong with this pipe...maybe a stinger? Nope. Maybe it's not a smooth drilling? Nope. Nothing wrong with it whatsoever.

Needless to say, I bought it. And didn't need to have a new stem made for the pipe I originally went in for, they had some old acrylic freehand stems that fit perfectly. All I have to do is unbend the stem a touch.

Needless to say, today was a good day.

It's always nice when you get a double score like that.

Just reinforces my opinion that basket pipes should only be purchased where you can physically inspect them. Congratulations.:bdance:

I'd put pics up, but the Photobucket uploader thread seems to have disappeared. For some reason I can upload there but not through PB's actual site.

I love it when a plan, you didn't plan, comes together!

I just uploaded some pics to photobucket and it seems OK now. What browser are you using? It does not seem to want to play nice with Chrome. Works fine with Opera.
