Have just finished a bowl of FVF and bright CR flake back to back and I am unable to notice any real difference between the two. If anything the bright CR is a little fuller flavour and burns a bit better

They have something else in common - they're hard to find for sale!

Never smoked Bright CR because I can't find any but I'd be interested if anyone else finds it to be similar to FVF. Thanks for the report.

I read this morning that paylesspipes has/had some FVF in stock but decided why bother when CR flake is available in bulk (and in my cellar...:)) . I'll buy FVF when it's available in bulk.

I find them very similar but CR flake seems to have just a touch of the Lakeland scent/flavor......to me anyways. I never really detected it in FVF but it's been a while since I had any. I'm saving the few tins I have of it as part of my retirement plan.....:whis:

GlassSculptor as usual is dead on the money. I recently tried FVF in the box pass and my first impression was that Bright CR Flake is very similar but FVF ended up being more flavorful, but they are close IMHO. And Bright CR Flake does start off with a hint of Lakeland flavor. It fades away rather quickly but it always seems to greet me at the first light.

Unfortunately I spent my TAD allotment for the week before I knew FVF was available, but I spent it on a full box of Bright CR so I don't feel too bad overall.

I find BBF to be more like it, and actually prefer it over FVF

Bright CR is one of the few remaining must tries on my list. If it is close to FVF though, maybe i'm not missing much. Guess I'll find out sooner or later.

Thanks for the heads up regardless!
