    Hi.

I haven’t yet tried any G. L. Pease blends so I plan to add some to my next tobacco order. The thing is, there are lots of blends that sound very nice and I need to choose 3 or so. I like full, rich flavour so want stuff that’s nice and bold. After doing some reading I’ve got these on the list of possibilities (so far):

    Abingdon
    Barbary Coast
    Haddo’s Delight
    JackKnife Plug
    Key Largo
    Maltese Falcon
    Robusto
    Sextant

    What would you recommend?

    Many thanks. :)

Haven't tried any Pease blends.. well then get on it!
Kidding aside, I'm starting to get into his collection too and one that I smoke that I don't see on your list that would definitely fit the bill is Cumberland. Such a nice mouthfull of VA, Burley, Perique, mmm..

If I had to narrow it down:

    Haddo's
    Jackknife

    Love these two.

I'll second the Cumberland. A very satisfying smoke with great depth of flavor.

Add Charing Cross. Been mentioned but +10 for Westminster, Quiet Nights, Abingdon, Blackpoint and of course Odyssey. IMHO some of the best and richest Lat blends you will find. Pease does Lats Well.

Quiet Nights is probably my current favourite tobacco, hands down.

Pease does do the lat blends very well (Westminster is my favorite of them), but I also really enjoy Fillmore and Union Square very much, especially with some age on them...

Thanks everyone. Narrowing it down to 3 could be a bit difficult them! Hehe. I guess I'll just pick a few to start with then try some more later on. It sounds like his stuff could be right up my street. Thanks again. :)

Forget the dozen or so that I like - let's focus on what you may like based on your tastes.

Abingdon for sure if you like latakia. Big, bold and robust, plus complex. Quiet Nights, Odyssey or Blackpoint would also fit the bill.

Telegraph Hill if you enjoy perique. Full of flavor and excellent mouthfeel. The reference VaPer, IMHO. Haddo's, if you want a bit of booze with your perique.

Cumberland or Jackknife Plug for a robust, natural burley-type taste. If you like the taste of straight tobacco.

What's cool with GLP blends is that you can find a blend that tweaks your tastes on the above. For instance, if Telegraph Hill is too potent, Stratford may be perfect. If you want more orientals with your latakia, Charing Cross will work. Great blender!

Does Haddo's Delight have a similar flavour profile to C&D Old Joe Krantz? People sometimes compare the two and I've tried OJK - I liked the strength but wasn't overly keen on the actual flavours. Is Haddo's Delight similar?

    Thanks.

Not a big fan of Please blends...I do like Jacknife and Triple Play plugs.

Not similar. Haddo's has a nice booze flavor added. They're both pretty strong on the perique, though. I liked Haddo's much more than I thought I would.
