I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been a pipe smoker for two years. In fact, pipe smoking was my first step into tobacco. I tried cigarettes and cigars but the pipe is my first love.

I'm one of the only pipe smokers on my campus. I've seen one or two but never talked to them. But someday, I'm going to make pipe smoking much more popular.

My first pipe was a Benton straight billiard, I sold it to my friend just last year. My first nice pipe was a Savinelli Antique Shell and is my favorite pipe. I later bought a corn cob just to add more pipes to my rotation. Recently, I bought a Hilson Avanti Larso estate pipe from the Tinderbox (the original one :D).

My favorite types of tobacco are English and Virginia tobaccos.

I hope I enjoy this forum as much as all of you do. From what I have seen, I like it.

Hey man , dont make the pipe to popular ... then supply and demand will kick in and us old timers wont be able to afford viagra cause of the price increase on tobacco . [ hint ] Smoke MB Golden Extra and you can get old an not worry about ed cause thats what the extra is about ;) Wellcome

Consider yourself lucky that you can smoke on campus. You can turn yourself into a real chick magnet if you smoke a good aromatic. Ladies love the nice smell. Pass yourself off as an intellectual with great taste. Be prepared. Better buy a 3 pack of Jimmy Hats!
    Be well.

Haha, I still have a hard time finding an aromatic that I love. The closest would have to be Mac Baren's Navy Flake, but some find that objectionable.

I've heard that Continental 51 at the Tinder Box is a very popular blend. That person from Mad Men, I don't know his name, I don't watch that show, said that that is his favorite blend.

My favorite description about it is "One of our famous customers has even described the aroma of this tobacco as 'seductive'."

But, I don't mind smoking an English blend on campus.

Oh, campus is definitely the place for an English blend, especially if you're studying physics or mathematics. (If not, you may need to switch majors.) Welcome!

I wish was was intelligent enough to study theoretical physics and mathematics. But philosophy and a pipe is not so bad. Bertrand Russell is one of my favorite philosophers, partly because he smokes a pipe.

Yes, that is the same Tinder Box. I haven't tried the deer tongue Special yet. Has anyone here tried it?

hahaha, well, I guess I defined aromatic as anything that smells nice to the outside observer.

Old Dublin and Royalty are two of my favorites too, so we probably have similar tastes. Which means you'll probably want to taste my favorite aromatic - it's Autumn Evening from C&D :bing:

I don't know what to classify Navy Flake as. I never thought it was an aromatic but I've smoked almost a whole tin this week and my wife loves the smell. I could see with a little more rum flavor maybe, but I hardly pick that up as it is. I love the taste of the toby in that stuff!!! MmmMmm!!!

You should smoke OGS. J.R.R. Tolkiens favorite toby was Capstan Medium Flake and I heard OGS is very close. Has there ever been a more brilliant professor on a campus?

    Welcome, Bruin.
Glad you're a Bruin and not a Trojan.
Now that our weather is turning chilly, its time to smoke the pipe on campus and watch the sweater-clad fauna.
For an outdoor aromatic, I recommend Villiger 1888 Mid-Day. It smells so good that ladies can't help introducing themselves.
