    Hey guys,
Just found out I will be in San Fran this weekend and I was wondering if anyone knew of any good tobacco shops there?

Oh, and if so, are there any house blends you would recommend?

    Thanks.

When I lived there "Grants" was the best, IMO. I thinks it's still there. Dunno. Anyhoo, it's at the far end on Market Street downtown in the 500 block. Bought a few pipes there and many, many tins of 3 Nuns.

Hey, do a search, I think I asked the same question a while back...I went to Grants and it is a shadow of its former self, picked up some Old Drum, alleged house blend...I think it is just Lanes BCA in retrospect. One of the folks that live out there said the best tobacconists have moved out of the city...beware the panhandlers.

I'm not surprised. It's been years sense my last visit to S.F. Funny there's plenty of pot bought, sold and smoked in that city - yet tobacco is a social evil. That shop was fantastic in the day...........

Grant's in San Francisco is closed, evicted by their landlord. Nearest few shops are:

    1. Burlingame Tobacconist
    2. Edwards in Los Altos
    3. Mission Tobacco in San Jose on Alameda
    4. Smoker's Paradise (associated with Edwards) in Campbell
    5. Piedmont Tobacconist over in the Oakland area

That's a real shame, they had been there forever and I planned on going back next time I was in town.

According to a former employee I know, Old Drum is in fact Lane BCA.

So sad to hear. Grant's was a really great, old tobacco shop, and Ted (the owner), is a really great guy. I hope they re-open somewhere else.

That's why it's so important (if you have one near you) to support your local tobacconist, especially those old school tobacco shops.

That's terrible. Their Roanoke va/per blend is awesome. I was going to pick some more up when I am out there in December. Oh well......
