Picked this up on Ebay last night. Haven't seen one before and it just looked cool!
Dr. Grabow Stafire 81 Bent Author. Seems as though Grabow liked naming the pipes after cars, and the Starfire (Olds) came out in the '50s, not sure how old this thing is.
Now just have to wait until it gets here and I recondition it....then...smoke it!
I'll post more pics after the redo. Anyone know any history on this line?
Just noticed, I miss spelled the name in the title, lol...working on my first cup of coffee so please forgive.

Thanks Cobb, so this could be as early as '56.

Very great shape !! Reminds me of the Kaywoodie 13b , which I love . It'll clean up fine .... Let us know if it's a stellar smoker . I'm finding out that the Grabows smoke pretty damn fine

I think there's a nice pipe under all the yuck; just needs a little TLC. Better she's in your capable hands . . .

Wife called me tonight at work and told me my package came in. So as soon as I got home, got out my cleaning stuff and went to work.

Love this shape. And like the #81 no filter.
We'll find out in a couple days how she smokes.
