Just bought this tonight from the local Smoke Shack. I've been looking at it for awhile, finally decided on it tonight. From my "research", H.I.S. pipes are made by Gardesana, an Italian crafter/firm. I've heard good things about them.

Also, I really like the look of this one. The walls are decently thick, I like the bend to the stem (and I love saddle-bits), and it's fairly compact.

Please excuse the poor photo quality, by the way. All's I got is a camera phone.

It smokes well. The bowl never got too hot, and if the smoke grew a little hot, I'll blame that on the Perique and the fact that I didn't dry the Old Gowrie quite well enough. A little tendency to gurgle, but only twice during an hour smoke.

Thanks, everyone. I'm happy with it. I'm usually not a big fan of apples, but this one had enough going for it to interest me. And I think it's a gorgeous little pipe. Maybe a Sunday pipe.

Keep in mind..."No Name" doesn't mean "No Good". I've had some basket pipes that smoked divinely...and high end pipes that smoked like crap. H.I.S. is a good name...nice mid-range pipes that from what I've read, smoke well. Congrats!
