As an almost ex cigarette smoker I kinda miss the nicotine buzz. I know there are difference in tobaccoes nicotine amount, but what brands / blends has the most nicotine?

Peterson Irish Oak . The cut is easy to light and keep lit and the flavor as you get into the bowl is a little cigaretteish and has plenty of nicotine

Tambalaka is the strongest stuff I've ever smoked. It's not for the feint of heart.

Defiantly tambalaka. Petersons Irish Flake and any of the SG ropes are pretty high too.

Several of the GH&Co. flakes have plenty of Lady Nicotene.
Coniston Cut Plug, Brown and Dark Flake, Rum Flake just to name a few. Plenty Big Nic.

This won't always be the case, but blends that have large portions of burley and/or Kentucky leaf will tend to give bigger nic hits than those without. These variants not only have a fair amount of nicotine, but their pH levels are more to the alkali side. This enables the nicotine to be more easily absorbed through your mouth tissues.

A burley or Kentucky blend that also includes Perique can be especially potent.

Actually I was going by my book "Plants of the Gods". Apparently Rustica was occasionally mixed with other nightshade-like plants for visionary states.
It doesn't mention the taste, that info I got second hand :)

Yeah one small problem for those of us coming from cigarettes is that the vast majority of pipe blends wont give you a noticeable nicotine hit (unless you inhale occasionally, as I do). But, I don't believe that's a bad thing. Taste and aroma is the primary reason I smoke a pipe, so I don't really care too much about nicotine content, as long as there is some present in the tobacco (and there always is).
On the other hand, you might want to try out the blends suggested above.

I did a search through the thread Moo posted and didn't find C&D Bayou Night. The stuff turns my stomach.
