Hello, I have been smoking a cherry aromatic exclusively as a new piper. I think I'm ready to move onto other tobaccos but, my main pipe has cherry aro buildup in it. How do I get rid of the cherry flavor? My first guess is to start smoking other stuff but, I'm thinking any new tobacco I try will be "cherry contaminated." :)

    Thank you

It likely will be for at least a few bowls. Your alternative is to ream out any excessive cake, and do a salt and alcohol treatment. Pay special attention to cleaning out the shank very well, and that ghost may be gone without too much effort.

Suffer through the cherry contamination for a couple of bowls of Cornell & Diehl's "Kelly's Coin". I have yet to meet the ghost that can't be exorcised with 2 bowls of this stuff. Often it just takes one but with cherry, I'm guessing two will be necessary.

Maybe keep this pipe as a dedicated cherry pipe and get another if you can afford one. The more the merrier yanno. ;)

Ream back any cake, then run a couple of bowls of PA through it and that should help get it going in the right direction. ;)

    Here's my plan...

    1. Clean as Justo has said...
    2. Find the blend dmkerr mentions...
    3. As Ming says, get another pipe regardless! :)

Truth is, I don't see myself smoking much cherry aro in my future. The blend I have is CAO Cherry Bomb. I have found Blue Note just as nice and not too crazy on the aro.

Cobb, what is "PA"???? Looking forward to familiarizing myself with the numerous acronyms this great pastime :)

Thanks for the great comments (as usual)!

Five brothers will also make the room spin, the first time I smoked five brothers I was drunk and holy crap I thought I was going to fall out of my chair. I tried it a few other times and each time I had similar experiences.

Really, any burley blend will help neutralize a pipe ghost.

Good advice here. Like Jussto said, clean it out and pay particular attention to the shank and stem.

If you smoke through it, you will actually find that as it gets weaker and weaker (the cherry, that is), you will likely find that you enjoy the subtle flavors of your (familiar) cherry.

"Five Brothers will exorsize any ghost in a pipe."

The Linda Blair approach? Any other untoward side effects besides the room spinning?

Whoa. Sounds like five brothers would be an intense exorcism!
