My new Sas pipe is here! I've been reading threads about excited Sas pipe owners for nearly eight months now. I talked to Todd about a pipe I wanted to dedicate to Shortcut to Mushrooms in December. Yes, everything that has been posted on PSF is true. Easy to work with, helpful suggestions, and fast service.

All that is great, but what I'm really happy about is how the pipe turned out. The shape is perfect, the stem is exactly what I wanted, and the balance is right on. The grain is beautiful, and the walnut stain couldn't be better. It feels really nice in my hand.

No, I haven't smoked it yet. I wanted to fondle it a bit, and display her virgin qualities here on PSF prior to having my way with her. After I've broken her in a bit, I'll post again about how she smokes. I'm very excited to try her. I smoked a bowl of Sillem's Black this afternoon, so am waiting until tomorrow when my taste buds recover.

    :thankyou: Sas!

I've been drooling over sas pipes for a while now so you've made me quite jealous. Looks like a great smoker. Gotta love the quality of build there. Later on I'm sure you will be happy to have gotten it at the price you did as I'm certain sas pipes are worth quite more than what he sells them for, shh don't tell him.

Thank you for the well wishes gents.

Alas, she is a virgin no longer. Her smooth roundness fits well in my hand. I stuffed her 1/3 full with STM and lit her fire yesterday for the first time. A second bowl today and she already has some cake building in the heel. Effortless, smooth draw and a very comfortable bit. She's been a very pleasant smoke so far, and I look forward to stuffing her 1/2 full tomorrow.

She has a very deep bowl. With a 1/3 load of STM, she still smoked for a solid 30 minutes both times without a relight.
