Well I finally finished flight school and took my checkride yesterday. Passed it - got my pilot's license. Woohoo! Also bought a CAO Meerschaum pipe. It was a good day. Pictures when I get home.

    Congratulations!!
I was half-way to my helicopter license when I flat ran out of money. Something about a mortgage payment being more important than flying....

Congrats! That is a huge accomplishment. My uncle has his pilot's license and I remember him going through the process. Remember to keep it updated!

Congrats on your wonderful accomplishment! You're really on your way now, ahead of the rest of the class. You are truly a person of high distinction. The world is worshipping at your feet! :nwor:

Oh, and a pilot's license, too. That's sorta cool. :beck:

I gave up flying in the late 80's , too much money for a poor boy to spend on fun, and it was fun! I can still afford to smoke a pipe though. Congrats OP it is a nice accomplishment.

Congratulations. Something my father-in-law, a pilot himself, once told me: Everything will be fine as long as the number of landings equals the number of takeoffs.

My favorite aviation quote. "It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than to be in the air wishing you were on the ground" , anyone who has flown any at all knows all about that!

To keep it pipe related, I have some old pics of me studying for the FAA written test, and smoking a Ben Wade Calabash pipe, I still have the pipe, and the books!

Congrats! Great accomplishment. I passed my ride back in 1985. Wish you many hours of fun! "There are old pilots and there are bold pilots, but there are no old, bold pilots"
