I just got a Peterson 303 ebony system pipe in a trade and oh buddy am I having a pipe crush. The thing is just as pretty as any pipe I've ever seen and is a complete dream to smoke. I packed her full of some WO Larson Special 2010 and put the match to it and was just smitten with how much more I could taste the tobacco and how much cooler the smoke was. Good, good stuff Morse, thank you for trading.

As I was putting my show-and-tell site together, I was surprised to see that I have more Petersons than anything else. They seem to sneak up on you. Good dependable pipes, with a wide range of styles. Haven't had a truly crappy one yet, although the fishtail stems could stand a little improvement.

I keep hearing about people hereabouts getting a new Peterson with the inside of the bowl stained. Haven't seen that yet myself-- was yours like that?

Supremes, Deluxes, Sherlock gold bands. Mine were stained. All others, including red meers were precarb'd.

Mine was from a trade with another forum member, plus it is an ebony with the Pete bowl coating on it so I have no idea. It smokes like an absolute charm though. In one smoke it became my new favorite.

I bought a Pete 303 a few weeks ago. I love it! One of my faves. I especially like it because it has a small bowl that is great for a quick smoke. Although there are times when I wish it held just a wee bit more.

I was admiring the pipe this morning and noticed that it's a 302 not a 303. I'm not sure what the difference is but I will tell you when I get a 303.

302's and 303's are the same shape but the 302 is bigger. I have an ebony 302 as well and it is definitely one of my favorite pipes.
