Bullitt, Great Escape, LeMans
I'm still trying to save up to buy this watch.....
His line was "No dad, it's not mine, I'm just holding it for a friend"
And don't forget Steve in The Blob
Steve was sooo cool in Bullit. I've been looking at Ford's newer Bullit Mustang because of the original '68 from the movie was a great car.
He was also good in the original Towering Inferno.
Now that just too damn cool!
Damn skippy! It would be a giant and manly explosion... like splitting a pure testosterone atom. One of the writers here at PSF outta write a short story or a screen play about such an event - praps the Duke and McQueen team-up and take a lost soul out on a horseback riding expedition to help him find inner manly man.
I just did a presentation on Existential Therapy this morning, as part of one of the classes I'm taking. Steven McQueen is the embodiment of Existentialism... or at least its potential excesses. Piss off Nietzche, cuz you're a girly man and Das Man rat by comparison! (I wonder how his womanizing, generally mean personality, foul temper, and drug/alcohol/tobacco excesses fit in the equation, though).
I almost bought one with 26k miles on it for ~22k. Insane deal from a family friend. I was talked out of it pretty quickly, mustang guys are apparently known for tight graphic tees and spray tans. I REALLY like the new 5.0's but it's just not practical for me.
Me either, but a friend has one and I like the way it looks and runs. I hear Ford may put out a newer one than the 2008. I'll watch for that and fight the urge as long as I can.
Oh, and I don't wear tight t-shirts or spray tan
Papillon is a favorite, but Lemans gets my top vote.
It's a toss up between Great Escape and Papillon.
