I really like the shape too, I havent smoked one but assume they smoke just as well as all the other MM cobs.

The Patriot cob is also non-filtered.

Every MM shape has it's fans.

I have a Patriot (one of my first cobs from Aristocob) and I like it, a lot.
    Of course, I like a stained cob and I don't use a filter ;-)

I put a Forever Stem on mine and use it as a "field pipe." The thinner Forever Stem has a very nice mouth-feel.

And as far as color goes, here's what mine looks like:

I picked one up not too long ago. I like it. It's a smaller bowl, but like spill said, it's a great on the go pipe.

No rhyme nor reason to taste. I don't know why, but I really dislike that shape.

That PA stuff should be kept for briars and meers and never smoked in a cob when one has CH & Cherry.;)

Edit. But then again, I did hear the Cherry is great in a small briar pipe.:ohyh:

It's kind of an odd shape. Maybe it's an acquired taste. :) Mine smoked good -- for about a month. Then the bit broke off. It wasn't hot, and I was just trying gently to remove it to clean the pipe and suddenly it was Oops There It Goes. Spillproof's suggestion of a Forever Stem now seems like a real good idea. I'm having trouble getting the barrel out of the stem, so I don't know if it will ever be in rotation again. From my experience I'd say be careful -- or go with Spillproof and get a nice Forever Stem.

There are cheaper options than Forever Stems, but I like them. You just slap a regular bit on it (PIMO).

I love my bent Patriot.. Smoke it an awful lot in fact. I had stem problems too with the original stem, so I grabbed a old vulcanite straight stem I had laying around and did some sanding and polishing and give it the wee bit o' bend and it looks awesome and smokes great.
