December is a pretty busy month for me... My girlfriend's birthday is on the 13th, our 2 year anniversary was on the 23rd, and Christmas on the 25th. But picking up this hobby has made this the best December I've had so far FULL of pipe stuff!

I recently sold a Peterson St. Patrick's Day Flag Pipe, and really wanted to use that money to go towards a new pipe to replace the empty spot on my shelf. Ended up REALLY liking the "bulldog" shape after a coworkers husband gave me an old Dunhill.

My first present received this month was to myself. A Jobey ASTI 200 Bulldog.

    It's now my go-to pipe.

Now for my next gift. This time from my girlfriend. For our 1 year anniversary I got her a traditional Irish Claddagh ring (Two hands grasping a heart with a crown, representing love, loyalty, and friendship). It is a symbol that has a lot of meaning and she absolutely loved it.
Well a few months ago I noticed that Peterson had a "Claddagh" series of pipes and mentioned it to her.
Guess what I got for our 2 year anniversary!

And last but not least... Christmas. I put on my list that I wanted a 12 pipe pipe rack. I got something better.
My dad has been doing a ton of woodworking now that he has a scroll saw and other stuff. Check out what he HAND MADE for ME.

    Even fits my Cobwarden!

I don't mean to rub it in or anything... But it's been a great way to end the year!

    I do too.

I knew there was a reason my pipes were out of order and covered in sawdust..

Those are all beautiful gifts, Seamas, and the Peterson and pipe rack will always be special to you, I'm sure. What a great hobby this is! It's nice to build memories around it, as they will last a lifetime.

    Merry Christmas!

Now you have room for more Bulldogs. My favourite shape, they just feel good in hand.

Merry Christmas Seamas to you and yours. That is an impressive pipe rack, I've wanted to build one myself and I think yours would be very worthy to copy (hope you and your dad don't mind). Best wishes for the coming years...

I was a little worried about the Jobey having heard about the "Jobey Link" causing draw problems. My stem on this pipe unscrews easily though and I have not had any problems with draw. It's actually a very nice smoking pipe for $49.99!

Not sure which has the nicest story... the Claddagh Peterson pipe or the rack from your Dad. Both are to be cherished (as you obviously do). Very nice and thanks for sharing.
