Pirate Kake will roll over you like a a tsunami if you go for that sort of unyielding power - ditto Penzance if you can find it. Lovely stuff.

Also, going to tr.com advanced search and selecting "krumble kake" for cut will get you another 44 suggestions.

Pirate Kake has quite a bit of latakia ... I got some for hubby and he is loving the bag note. He plans to smoke some today after lunch - he took the CBK for the morning though.

ETA: CBK is really flavorful and nice. Unless you just have a body chemistry reaction to burley in general, it is worth a try (and if you don't like/can't smoke, I can trade for it).

I first read this as "He plans to smoke some today FOR lunch. Was just about to write a lengthy post about the benefits of food in the diet.

While heavy, I really like Pirate Kake. I find it smokes quite cool. Goes well with thin-walled and smaller bowl pipes that tend to smoke hot. Also an excellent after-dinner smoke, if you're not in the mood for a cigar.

The new Hearth & Home Fusiliers Ration is pressed into cakes and it's good stuff. Not a powerful smoke but flavorful. Good sweetness to it as well, from the cavendish.

Anniversary Kake and Pirate Kake are two of my favorites and both are pretty cheap and that is a plus.

Classic Burley Kake and Aged Burley Flake are very different from each other. If you enjoy Anniversary Kake, you'll probably enjoy Burley Kake too. It's very sweet and doesn't have that big kick of nicotine that Aged Burley Flake has.

    Night Train

If you like them strong and full, it will not disappoint.

I've never tried Bayou Night, but I doubt it has much in common with Night Train. I know Bayou Morning is nothing like it. It's a hard pressed cake, to begin with. The make up of the blend is totally different, too.

Never had Bayou Night, but to my tastes it is rather different to Bayou Morning. I find NT smoother, sweeter, deeper and less spicy. I find more similarities between NT and Three Friars than Bayou Morning.
