An ebay batch that I have dubbed "The Dirty Dozen." So nasty. Crusty.

Its a very smooth mild unflavored blend that is really easy to smoke and enjoy. No bite, no bitterness, and a very smooth clean smoke.

Burley with a little bright leaf, cut into short ribbons, very lightly flavored with a fruit topping. One of the most revered American stalwarts. There are 234 alternate opinions on tobacco reviews dotcom.

I think I'll have a bowl right now.

Which ones? There is a hidden gem there. Did you spot it?

    First Row: #2, #4, #5, and #6.
    Second Row: #2, and #4

Is the *Gem* #2 or #5 in the first row?

Nope, the "gem" is not #2 or #5 in the first column. It is very much in the rough - even more so than the seller's picture shows. I will leave it as a teaser for now.

    Column 1
    • #2 - Completely unmarked. Fancy brass rings and Lucite stem suggest it is a second.
    • #4 - Marked only "Italy." Several of these have only that marking.
    • #5 - This is a gem, but not the gem. It's a BC. Sells at Cupojoes for 60 bux.
    • #6 - Another "Italy." Once the layers of crud were removed, it turned out to be Meerschaum lined. (So did #4 in the second column.)
    Column 2
    • #2 - French "Grand Classique" This is the only one that was not seriously unkempt. Was this a Tender Box brand?
    • #5 - "Italy"
The gem is top left. It looked far uglier than the picture shows, and I did not recognize the insignia. It turned out to be a pipe that sells for $190, and it smokes better than any other bent I have ever charged with tobacco. It is a large S&R. ComputerGuy identified it.

I was thinking it was the BC. It certainly caught my eye but there are some nice shapes there.

I got an order in yesterday,

A tin of Dunhill flake, one of Erinmore mixture, some MacBaren Vanilla cream and 50g of the cherry and vanilla blend that I really like.
Also bought myself a pouch for storing my pipe etc in while out and about cause the pocket of my jacket is taking beating.

Doing business with cupojoes for the first time in a long while. Got a tin of Presbyterian Mixture, a sample of Altadis Edgeworth Ready Rubbed match which people seem to think is pretty great for an Altadis product, and a vulcanite forever stem for my MM Legend.

Oh yeah, and I paid off the second half of the pipe I had reserved elsewhere! Still new to the whole paypal thing, so I hope payment went through without a hitch
