Sorry if you've already seen this clip, if you haven't it's 1:29 of cinematic joy. No one handled his pipe better than Cleef....question: is it a meerschaum? Enjoy..

I believe it's a meerschaum. Also, Lee's got a nub of a finger on one hand. Not a lot missing but it can be noticable. If I get this right, he cut off the tip of one of his fingers while operating a saw. I think he was building a tree house for his kids.

I think you can see the finger as he squares off with Clint and Eli for the last gun fight in the movie. Watch his hand move along his gun belt before he draws.

    Ol Brokedik.

Thanks obd I will check that out. Utube used to let you post the link but I think they tweeked it so you can't. I know Cleef was an avatar here and I'm sure much discussion about the "for a few dollars more"....but that particular clip is so classic!

Thanks Wrightwood, I love westerns, spagetti westerns, and good ol' Lee Van Cleef, Klaus Kinski is "the hunchback" in the scene. I'll have to go through my VHS collection and find for a few dollars more one of these snowy days.

That was a neat clip. I just clicked "Watch on YouTube" and it took me right to it. I have The Good The Bad and The Ugly on DVD. This reminds me that I need to get "For A Few Dollar More" and "A Fistful of Dollars" too.

Had? I have several LVC pics I swap out for my avatar. The one I'm currently using is a shrunk down pic of a painting of Lee.
