So, as we are preparing to depart Afghanistan within the next month, we began cleaning up, clearing out, and trying to leave our AO nice and ready for the incoming unit, set to arrive very soon.

As we were straightening up, we have a large igloo cooler that is full of cigars, and as units come and go, the pile grows, we hit the gels and pillows with some distilled water, and smoke at our leisure. The 1SG was digging around, taking a small bag for his carry-on so he could smoke a few sticks when we get to our next stop. All of a sudden, he hollers at me "Hey B, check this out!!" As I go in to the Command office, he tosses me a full 2oz can of Smokingpipes.com's Low Country Black... I was pretty stoked!! I opened the tin to find that the seal was gone, but the tobacco is still good. Not too wet, not too dry. Ready to be loaded in a bowl and set ablaze. I can't wait to give it a shot...:punk:

An excellent surprise. Tastes better with a sprinkling of luck.

    That's great on many levels:

    1 - Found tobacco
2 - You were thought of when it was found
3 - (and most importantly) You are preparing to go home!

    Best,
    Devin

Oh, that's not $10. That's a heckuva lot more than that. That is a gem beyond price.

Are you coming back to the American Continent, or going elsewhere? If you can't say, I understand. Good travels to you nonetheless.

Fort Polk? From one hell hole to another. Desert to swamp land.

Yeah, but I am actually fond of Louisiana. I will be heading back there to retire when I am done with my active service. Stranger things have happened I suppose...:thu2:
