Hey guys. Ive been really favoring a ribbon cut baccy, called "your fathers blend" thats blended by the local pipe shop here in memphis. Its very smooth and light, but it will bite if you hit it too much. I hated it at first, but its becoming a favorite of mine pretty quick. Its a va/burley type thing. ribbon cut..with a vanllia flavor, but not overwhelming, you can still taste the tobacco.
Basicly, Im looking for some more good ribbon cut tobaccos. Possibly something tinned? Something that maybe wont smoke too wet, but something with some flavor, weither that be an english or a good quality aro.
    Thanks for the help guys.

Well , this might be a bit off track but SWR Aromatic is a ribbon cut aro that I enjoy . Ya get to the tobacco halfway down but it's good getting there and it's a classic so what the hell .... come to think of it ... on the opposite side of the spectrum ...Germains king Charles [ not aro ] but youll taste tobacco

    Ask them what it is.
More likely than not it's a bulk blend - not locally mixed.

Lane 1Q is the number one selling blend in the US - mostly by local B&M's under their own names.

    If it's not 1Q - then try 1Q
    + I'll second the 5100..

    Nickc-

OGS isn't ribbon, it's flake...but a good one. If a new tobacco doesn't have to be ribbon for ya, then Snake made an excellent suggestion.

I sit corrected. If it's rubbed out, is it ribbon? :idiot:

I'm happy to recommend the following tinned, ribbon-cut blends:
    • Peterson Dublin
    • Peterson Sherlock Holmes
    • Davidoff English
    • Davidoff Royalty
    • Fox Dorisco
    • Fox Squires
    • Presbyterian Mixture

If you end up liking any of these, please do tell! :bing:

I can't believe you guys left out Five Brothers. Prolly the thinest ribbon out there and pack a great Nic hit too.

The 'baccy in the smaller 50g tin sure looks like ribbons to me, but I'm no expert.

My 50 gm tins of OGS have purdy lil' flakes in them.

Snake-I suppose rubbed out flakes=ribbon, or close to it, anyways.

Jesla-Excellent choice...assuming the OP can handle it.(No offense, Nick.) 5 Bros. is probably not for everyone. (I need to get more though, thanks for reminding me!)
