New to pipe smoking. Smoking Sir Walter Raleigh Aromatic right now, it's what my dad smoked for years. I really like it but would like to try some that are similar. Can you point me in the right direction?

You might like the Boswell line of aros.

That depends on how aro you wanna go. (How aro can you go? How aro can you go?)

Sorry. Got distracted. Anyways, if you want REALLY aromatic, give Molto Dolce a go or some Caramel Rush. If you REALLY REALLY want to knock your socks off, try Blackberry Brandy.

I like Peterson Sweet Killarney. You'll either love it or it'll bite you like a pit bull with PMS. I also like SPS French Quarter and one of the Lane bulks (can't remember which one though).

SWRA. I have to get another pouch of that. I seem to remember that I liked that one a lot.

Boswell's Best is a very nice aro. But +1 on the SWRA!

You can try 100 other aro but in the end, you will come back and realize that SWRA for the money and quality is a Godsend.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Boswell aromatic. My favorites are Boswell's Best, Piper's Pleasure, Raspberry Cream, or if you're looking for something lighter Sweet Tea is a good choice.

On second thought, they're all good!

They're fairly cheap too. I think their aro's go for less than $3/oz. The only downside is they recently stopped taking credit card orders over the phone and there isn't any online order method on their website so you have to send a mail order.

Plus 1 on Boswell aro blends. You can do a bank draft with them as an option. Email or FAX a form to them on first order and it is good for any future orders. Lane 1Q is nice as is Lane RLP-6. Yes they are very affordable. I'm lucky to be able to purchase them locally at my B&M local cig outlet store.

You might find that most of the aromatics wont have the same amount of nicotine as SWRA . I love aromatics and have a hard time thinking of one that's similar . The German and Danish Aros have some nicotine but are mainly Virginia and are pretty hot or warm to smoke , in general . Do you like Black Cavendish ?

wvsmokeshop has 1 oz samples for $ 1.70 and smokingpipes has 1 oz samples for $ 2.60 . Both are stellar etailers . Lane BC-A is a good smoke . Altadis stuff ... just pick one that's all black .... theyre all cool smokes .

wvsmokeshop even has a 1 oz sample of smokers pride Black Cavendish , which is cool cause it's sold in 12 oz bags normally . http://wvsmokeshop.com/smokersprideblackcavendish1ozsample.aspx ....

Sutliff Private Stock Molto Dolce is an AMAZING aro. 1Q is great, but it is basically the cheapest way to smoke Captain Black ;) CAO's Eileen's Dream is another good one. I've never tried SWRA, but I have a few new blends on their way so hopefully I can update this soon. You might try some Ashton Smooth Sailing too.

But if you want a lot of reviews quickly, check out TobaccoReviews.com, they have helped me tremendously.

    Happy hunting!
