Tobacco: Mac Baren Plum Cake Description on tin: "Plumcake brings the thoughts back to old times, when the sailors onboard the sailing ships filled their pipe with good, satisfying tobacco and having the scent of tar and saltwater all around them. Bright Virginia tobaccos mixed with Burley, a little original Mac Baren Cavendish and just a touch of Syrian Latakia. On top of this masterly made blend original Jamaica Rum has been added to fulfill the impression. This blend is full bodied and rich giving you the taste nuances of natural sweetness added with a slight taste of smoke, Latakia, and the distinctive aroma of sailor rum." Pipe: Custom Diplomat by ShawnP I think I really like this blend. The tin was very fresh, and the blend was strong (got a spot lightheaded after a few draws, though this may be because I'm not an everyday smoker) There was a slight sweetness associated with it, in addition to the usual Latakia spiciness. Though I am not the most seasoned piper out there, this blend wasn't overpowering at all. Though it can be a bit strong, it was manageable, and enjoyable, with a decent tobacco aftertaste in the smoke. Not a bad blend at all. At around $11 a tin on Pipes and Cigars, this will be a repeat purchase on my part if the rest of the tin is as good as my first bowl of it.
