I have a Mastercraft with a stinger in it and want to know if I really need the stinger in the pipe? It has better airflow without it and I have to remove and clean the stinger every other smoke, sometimes it needs cleaning every smoke. I thiink I would enjoy the tobacco more without it.

I'd just toss the stinger myself.

I have 2 marxman pipes (marxman was bought out by mastercraft back in the day so the stingers are prob pretty similar) and i removed both. Better airflow and smother draw. If it works better for you, then why not?

I've had one pipe with a stinger (a cheap basket pipe) but the stinger made it gurgle like crazy.

It does its job of condensing the moisture in the smoke. Only problem is, the moisture hung of the stinger and would gurgle and occasionally shoot up the stem and bomb my mouth. Not fun. Kinda glad that pipe got stolen.
