    Meet My Pipes

I’ve been thinking this would be an appropriate time for me to take an inventory of my slowly acquired collection of smoking friends. And, of course, to share it with other pipe lovers. I didn't know much about pipes when I bought each of them so I feel fortunate indeed to have ended up with such a nice little starter collection. Hope this link thingie works and you enjoy the show:

From front to back in the rough order of my preference:

Bjarne Bent Bulldog My favorite of all time. Compact, classy, balanced, comfortable
Stanwell Majestic horn-shaped sitter Great minimalist design bowl is a little narrow
Ben Wade slightly bent zulu? New acrylic stem smokes beautifully
Savinelli Oscar 611 a more bent version of the Ben Wade but the bowl’s been made too big
Jobey full bent pear(?) smokes well but I discovered the grain was painted on
Bent pot Made inLondon nice burl but shank is cracked and stem yucky
Oom Paul (?) Algerian briar Made inFrance for that Big smoke too deep to fill
Don’t know where the churchwarden came from never smoked
Majestic London Pocket pipe pretty, nice grain, clever design good back-up piece
Danish Sovereign straight w/ unusual flat front bowl my oldest pipe 2nd stem is toast
Straight Meerschaum in leather box nice gift smoked a few times not really me
And finally a great big bag of Charles Towne from my local pipe shop.

Not shown are the two I’ve purchased since finding this place last week. A nice little Chacom de Luxe with a square shank and stem and the very handsome W.O. Larsen Rustica Chimney Pipe which I hope is as gorgeous in person as it is in the photos.

I’d say this whole experience is trending expensive but it’s a heck of a lot easier than collecting mid-century fiberglass boats.
