Just opened a tin of Samuel Gawith Navy Flake, which by the way I have been looking for in like 20 tobacco shops in Madrid, and it has mold!!! Well it has some white things and it smells like cheese... Quite sure it's mold. Apart of that it's VERY wet.
I tried to smoke a bowl but it left me a horrible taste and I'm quite sure that can't be healthy.
    Any solution/advice?

By the way is it safe to smoke?

The white things growing on my SG tobaccos are usually sugar crystals. Your results may vary, however.

Take a very close look at it. Mold is fuzzy and slightly greenish, while sugar crystals are shiny and...well...crystalline.

How long have you had the tobacco? was the seal still sound?
You might take it back to the shop where you bought it...ask for a replacement or refund.

SG blends arrive very wet, usually. At
least, all the ones I've opened.

Sounds like mold to me. I wouldn't smoke it, but if it came moldy, send it back.

Not unusual at all with SG.

But if it's furry I would say mold.

I'm half bowl on a couple of flakes and still alive :P

I found somewhere some pictures of this tobacco and mine looks like the one in the pictures so I gave it a try.

It still has a strange taste but I'm not quite sure that this is not the taste it's supposed to have. It feels like something very familiar to me, but I just can't identify it or compare it to anything. It's something sharp almost metallic but at the same time is quite nice... I'll have another bowl tomorrow and I'll let you know.
