Now I've got two of these guys! Good thing, it allows me to give them a rest every once in a while.
This new guy is blonder and chubbier than my first, but smokes every bit as good. I've put four or five bowls through this thing and every one has smoked right to the bottom without effort.

My first one is coloring up really nice as I smoke it - I wonder what color this blonder briar is going to turn into. I like the way the grain gets accentuated as it colors.

Once again, Doug, thanks for a great pipe!

    And now showing the pair!

Oh, I forgot! The new one's got DGE inscribed on the bottom of it!

Very cool! Seeing them sitting there side by side almost makes me want to sing "Ebony and Ivory". :th1:

Great looking pipe! That one you were smoking really did get darker fast.

The first is from some Greek briar that starts darker and then gets darker. The second one is Tuscan briar. It won't get as dark, but will darken up.

Trick me once... shame on you. Trick me twice...shame on me. Oh, wait... that doesn't apply here. Grats on the second DGE!

Yeah, the first one was noticeable after, like, a day. Really interested to see what the Tuscan does. I think I'm sold on the idea of an unstained pipe - what happens to the wood is really neat.
