So I was looking around at pipes with one of my friends and this is what I got.

The markings on it are "FIAMMATA" on one side and an S in a triangle with what looks like two little pipes above that, the number 207 and ITALY on the other side. From what I can tell its a Savinelli and it might be old. Does anyone know anything else about it? I paid $21 and it smokes real well so far!

I believe you are correct as a Savinelli Fiammata. $21? You scored yourself a "Steal of the Day"! Congratz Thrawn! We should all be so lucky! :thumbsu:

Yes you scored a good Savinelli, for that price thats awesome. She looks to be in good shape so whoever had her before you looks like they took good care of the old girl lol. You will find no complaints out of that pipe i swear by Savinelli's, i love them. So take good care of her and she will take good care of you!! :thumbsu:

My understanding is that the Fiammata is a higher mid-grade Sav...so you done VERY good!

Here here! Great job on a first pick. I don't own a SAV, but have only heard good about them. AND vintage for 20 bucks! Lady luck was in your corner.

Forgot to ask-- does your pipe have the filter system in the stem? I don't know if all Savinellis have that, but all of mine do. You'll be able to tell; the tenon attachment will be wide and deep enough to accommodate the filter (which is a hunk of balsa).

Most Savinellis (especially the 207 model) use the balsa filters. Possibly, the previous owner of your pipe took out the filter/adapter. Try getting some 6mm balsa filters for your pipe (or even cheaper is to use a pipe cleaner and snip off a 6mm length).
