Yeah, I was afraid of that. Glad you caught wise quick enough and found a much more suitable replacement :D

Welcome! I'm glad to see you did a few things right.

    1. You didn't rush in.
    2. Got rid of that Chinese POS.
    3. Didn't over pack the pipe (this is a biggie, it's always better to under, rather than over, pack your pipe. You can always tamp and it prevents rim char.)

Flakes tend to conceal their moisture, so next time, let it dry a little longer. I wish I had found this forum when I started--it sure would have flattened the learning curve. Again, welcome to the forum.

    RIP, Popcorn.

I'm glad I don't have any pics of my first time. Lots of foul smells, burning sensations and choking.

My first time with a pipe was no picnic either.

Yeah this forum has been a godsend... Ive been lurking around reading other post and trying to learn from others mistakes. Unfortuanely I know Im going to make plenty but thats what hobbies are for... I smoked my second bowl this morning with a nice cup of coffee and a lil bluegrass in the back ground. The smoke, the music, and the strong coffee made an excellent start to an otherwise cloudy drab morning..........

No, he communicated pretty clearly. Sometimes even in English.

M first briar pipe was a Tinder Box Carolina Briar, made in Czechoslovakia. It was a good pipe, took a while to break in though. I traded it in at Low Country after a year.

Good to see you didn't get discouraged from that POS pipe!
