Well, my first pipe was a Missouri Meerschaum straight cob, but i have since gifted it to a friend who was interested in pipe smoking. I have two more pipes coming tomorrow hopefully (yay!) but here are my first two pipes:

    Peterson Ebony 05 Killarney:

I love this thing for just hanging from my mouth while doing work or walking around, driving, etc. It just hangs there with no effort and just fits my personality very well (I feel some pipes i really love but would never smoke because i would look strange smoking it :D)
The drilling is spot on, and it smokes quite well now that it is broken in :D

And here is my Luciano Chubby Billiard. I love the shortness of this pipe, and it just feels perfect in hand. Because its so short and the bit is so wide, i can clench it for a few seconds no problem if i need to use both hands for something, but i wouldn't just keep it there. The bowl is now broken in and has a nice little layer of cake and it smokes a lot cooler than my Peterson but is more of a sit down smoker.

Sorry for lots of pictures :D

Love them both. Certainly a different look on the rear of the Luciano.

    Lot's of style, there Paul.

Congratulations on your first pipes! Those are real beauties. My first pipes were both cheapo Czech ones (BPK i think the brand was said to be.. no markings on them though ;)).
I'd get another MM cob ASAP though. Those are great smokers too ;)

I have never seen a luciano before.. and i have to say im intrigued. Does it really have that gray/blackish tone around the birdseye on the front or is that the picture? Looks almost like weathered wood..

yes it has the blackish/gray around the birdseye it looks fantastic. i purchased it from smokingpipes with only the side picture showing the grain that you can see in the bottom photo, so seeing that birdseye was a fantastic surprise :D

One of the pipes coming tomorrow is a luciano also actually, it's a straight bulldog i just fell in love with before i even noticed it was another luciano <.<

They're definitely worth picking one up, they are machine shaped but hand finished to keep cost down but quality still pretty good. The bit is perfectly fitted, the drilling is perfect as well and the finish looks quite pretty :]

The chubby ones are a bit more costly (this one was $112 shipped) but others are more in the $70-90 range

    Hi All,

A lot better than my first two pipes ( a couple of 5 shilling Blue Spots made somewhere in Italy before Italy got good at pipe making ) - wish you many happy years with them. The Peterson certainly is a looker - the Good Lord in his Infinite Wisdom having decided I should be issued with a long nose the Shortie would give me problems!

    Happy smoking

Nice pipes, the Luciano's a real beauty. With my Italian schnoz, a nose-warmer is actually a nose-hair burner...

Lol i hate it when that happens.. Atleast UPS usually gives you an estimate time though.. FedEx here just says they "will be there between 9am and 7pm" .. then they show up at 9pm the day after :/

I don't know how close you are to a ups depot but you can go online & change your delivery to a pick up after the first failed delivery . Works real good when your trying to keep a PAD attach from your significant other.
