I am a big fan of the Lovat shape and this is my third Lovat from Rad. My eye was drawn to the contrast stain and the smooth top. It is a nice sized group 5 bowl and it weighs only 48 grams. I am very excited to be adding another Rad to the collection.

I think the contrast is particularly interesting with the blast texture. Looks to be a fine pipe. I'm sure it will be well enjoyed!

Looks great! Rad does some of the best blasts these days as is evidenced by this pipe and the fact that Mark Tinsky is currently sending pipes to him for blasting.

Thanks for the nice comments guys, it is appreciated.

capt, that shank treatment is actually spalted tamarind. I have a Rad Rhodesian with spalted maple and it is very similar to the tamarind.

Beautiful! I don't have any straight pipes, but that one makes me thing about adding a straight to my PAD list. :thu2:

Brad, thanks. I have many straight pipes along with bents and find that as long as they are under 50 grams or so, they are comfortably clenched. I keep mine under 6.5 inches long.

I saw that one the other day when he posted it. He is a master of shapes, and this is one fine example. Well chosen.

Simply stunning, gorgious to say the least. I have to say that in my personall opinion that Rad Davis ring grain pipes are a bench mark in which others can be compared to. I do not own any of his pipes(yet)--ha-ha, but everyone I have seen has been absolute perfection inside, and out. Its good to see such talent, and workmanship. I cannot imagine ANY person who owns a Rad Davis being unhappy with it. I love this mans ring grain pipes--I would love to own one at some point myself.

The pipe came in today and I am in the process of it's maiden voyage. I am smoking some John Aylesbury Luxury Flake and it is performing great, cool and dry and a definite keeper.

Lol, when I viewed the tiny pic from my cell, it looked like spalted maple. I like the tamarind more!

Goat, those are Rad's pics. He always uses a tin of TN as a background. I do have on tin left of TN that I bought back in 2002, I am still kicking myself for not stocking up years ago.
