I love it. The draw is pretty much perfect, and I like the lattice etching on it. The only problem I have is that there was a funny taste to it during the first few bowls, but it seems to be going away. This is my first meer, and I'm debating on getting another one with my fantasy football winnings. I really like the fact that it can be smoked multiple times over the course of a day, because I usually smoke around five bowls a day and it's hard to carry that many pipes around with me.

I believe that is just the new meer taste. It seems to subside after a few bowls. Just like breaking in a briar, however I see it mot often referred to as seasoning. Oh yeah, thats a great looking pipe!

Nice looking meer! I too just have 1 meer (an sms estate, cleaned & tasted fine) Would have to agree with soundlizard....give it a few bowls, I'm sure that's all it will take to eliminate any funny taste. I have number 2 on the way & also have another briar (canadian style) on the way....Welcome to the obsession!

Nice one. New Meerschaums often have dust in them, just blow them out well before the first smoke and it makes quite a difference.

That's a gorgeous pipe!!! I have a lattice design meer as well and the first 3 or 4 smokes had a strange taste. It definately goes away with smoking and I love mine! I really can't wait to get another!!! :puffy:

Thanks guys... I'm really enjoying this pipe. It still has a little bit of a funny taste to it when I get down to the bottom of the bowl, but most of it has burned off by now. And the draw is the best of any of my pipes.
