    Hi everyone,

So im on vacation this week and I noticed that my neighbor that is 2 houses down from me smokes a pipe. I would say that he is in his late 60's or early 70's. Hes never outside when I get back from work but this week ive noticed lots of vanilla smells from my back yard and saw him smoke his pipe.
I went over and started to talk to him about pipe smoking.

He has just one pipe and its a basket pipe with made in italy stamped on the side. And he only smokes captain black gold. He told me that hes been smoking this for the past 10 years. I asked him if he had tried any other blends and he said no.

I went back to my place and grabed all of my jars and brought them over to his place. I made him smells all of the jars and told him that he can keep them for a bit so that he can try them all.

I kept 2 jars for my self, frog on the bayou because i havent tried it yet and a jar with my long bottom leaf and tree beard mix.

    What i lent him was
    frog on the town
    old dublin
    squadron leader
    nutty cut
jar mix of connoiseur, amphora red and tastemasters.

I hope this opens up his horizons a bit. For me its fun to have someone close by that smokes a pipe and that we will be able to talk about these tobaccos.

Anyways thats my story for today :)

That's pretty awesome, I wish my neighbour was this cool! And props for opening new doors for someone! He might buy 50 pipes and 50 tobaccos before the end of the year!

For him in his mind there was just one small tobacco store that only sells amphora and captain black and sail. He didnt even know about the rubber bits to protect the stems. But ill bring him to a bigger store In Ottawa that has a good sellection if he wants.

That's pretty cool. I'd be interested in what he thinks of the new blends.

My neighbor chews tobacco. I wish I had a pipe smoker nearby.

Cool story! My neighbors smoke "pipes" but I don't think many of them are interested in my fine tobacco blends.:hip1:

Great story. Makes me jealous for a neighbor that smokes a pipe.

I would love to try some amphora some day. Does your neighbor need another pipe to add to his rotation? I have an estate pipe or two that haven't sold yet that I would be happy to donate.

I regularly take samples of my new bulk purchases to my neighbor across the street. He's 70 years old but much more active than me. The first time we saw each other I had my pipe and was messing around out in the driveway. He looked over and saw me smoking mine, took his pipe and lifted it to me as if to say "cheers." We've been pipe friends since.

That's awesome man. My current neighbor is an ex-pipe smoker (COD) - he often lurks on his patio downwind of me ;-)
