New Invicta Tankard

    I wanted a new Tankard with a Fishtail stem and it seemed that no one had one so I contacted Peter Ellam of Invicta Briars. He was more than willing and here it is. This is a nicely done pipe and super light so it will do great as a clencher. This is a one only and one of a kind pipe from Invicta so I am proud to own it. Tankard is the name that I gave it in honor of the similar pipe by Peterson. As far as I know Peter Ellam has not given this pipe a name. The band is sterling silver and I got this for about 53 British Pounds.

    Fantastic! I have GOT to get around to getting myself an Invicta soon. I love, love English pipes, and Northern Briars and Invicta seem to be the very best out there as far as buying a brand new English pipe. Obviously Dunhill is the old standard, but I feel like they don't quite make the same quality as they used to, and a tobacconist I know agrees with me. So I have been searching out other English pipe makers, and Invicta is one that I have heard nothing but good things about. I love the Tankard shape, by the way, and didn't realize that Peterson made that term up. And for £53, well, that's a damn good deal. I think that would be around $90 with the current conversion rate (maybe a little more), so yeah, great deal for a hand made pipe.

    I also tend to hear that Invicta pipes are very light, which is a huge plus because I clench constantly. I can't wait to get myself one! Congratulations!

    Very nice looking pipe. What's the overall length? Is that comparable to the Peterson or is this perhaps a Canadian Tankard?

    Of course if this were a sandwich, the deli would name it after you so why don't you suggest Voodoo's Canadian Tankard?

    It took a good long while. It was not a pipe he had made before and there were emails back and forth. When he got it done delivery was maybe a week. I left the finish up to him as I figured he would know best how that piece of briar should look.

    I like the name Voodoo's Canadian Tankard. I haven't measured my pipe yet. I've only seen pictures of the Peterson.
