Hello all from NC! I am new to the hobby and love it. I have ventured out into making my own cob pipes, as you can see in the pic, i hope to get my hands on some aged briar or cherry wood and some carving tools and go at that too. I enjoy a cool aromatic smoke, but am trying to find my groove of smoke. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Luckily I live 5 miles from a JRs outlet, "the biggest cigar store in the world" as they claim, so I have very many options when it comes to my tobacco selection. Also forgot to mention that I have enjoyed an ounce of captain black's white bag blend, but I want to broaden my horizons. Thanks and many regards.

couldnt figure out how to add pic, tried html and insert of url, no go. the pic is the same as avatar, just a few in my rotation

yeah, my grandfather for some reason has some cobs that he would trap squirrels with that were aged for over 3 years in his barn, they are an amber color, not yellow as on would imagine, they work well , the stem is actually lazily done with a 1/4 inch dowel rod as reeds are hard to find. they turned out great, only 2 survived and did not burn through and will be in my rotation. more cobs at hand, will give a few more a go. pics to come!
