Thanks for the tip, Herb. Since the local 'Kids for Cash' scandal blew up, I feel I can no longer count on corrupt judges to alleviate me of my children. Now I must forge on ahead...alone. :)

More ET Cardiff in the PSF POY. This is a solid, workhorse VA. I'm not gobsmacked, but it is worthy for consideration anyways. My thanks to dp and his good taste(and cellar sharing).

My POY is split, rim to (almost) shank, I just noticed. :( I've got maybe 6 bowls in it. Drats.

Edit...disregard the last. I'm seeing things. Oy, my eyes....

Glad to help. I'm happy that your POY isn't a gonner, too. That would have been tragic.

I had the first taste of Sam's Flake before my meeting tonight. It was, by a long shot, the least impressive of SG's offerings which I've tried to date. It was still pretty decent, but if I have access to other stuff from them I'll probably pass on it in the future. It was okay...I'll smoke through the tin I have open, and most likely will smoke through the next tin as well, but I doubt I'd get more. I think the orientals don't really work so well with the tonquin, but that's just my feeling. The fruit didn't come through on the smoke (which is fine by me) and the spice was minimal, but of course a little tonquin was definitely there. All things considered I'd rather it be Grousemoor Plug or 1792 Flake or Kendal Plug or....well, any other SG I've tried haha

I just had an uninspiring bowl of Stonehaven. This is going in that pipe's permanent record and will definitely come up in its next performance review

I'll most most likely smoke at least 6000 pipes today, it's my mothers birthday and she has passed on. I miss her very much. She died at 52 years young, which was way too early. She was a loving and beautiful woman.

I am stepping out with Calpyso in my MM cobb and a thick cuppa joe.

"Choc-full-o-nuts" that's an interesting, if not accurate way of referring to the forum, isn't there a coffee brand with the same name? -David
